WALLACE and LADMO

I guess that the first time that I saw you
I was merely just a boy.
You wore that funny hat and great big tie
Your smile brought me so much joy.
I saw you when you first appeared with "Wall Boy"
On TV.
You two were my greatest friends
You were the best, just like family.
I'd rush from school to meet The Gang!
The only gang I knew
Who could make me laugh and forget the pain
For the time I was with you.
Ladmo you were the greatest pal any
Kid could ever have.
You accepted every nationality
You taught us all to laugh.
Wallace and Ladmo baby sat for Arizona
Weekly right on time.
They kept us out of trouble
And it didn't cost a dime.
California had it's Disney land,
In other places Six Flags flew tall,
But here in Arizona-
Wallace and Ladmo overshadowed them all.
They were ours, we wouldn't share!
They were what was unique about our state.
For within the hearts of Arizona's kids
Our love for you was great.

Wallace was the friendly uncle, though
At times was moody too,
Ladmo was just another kid who liked to play
And do for you.
Gerald was the mean rich little kid, a snob, a dweeb
And a brat.
Aunt Maude was a vicious old broad with hairy arms
And a chest that was flat.
Captain Super tried too hard only to
Fall short within his mind.
Marshall Good was destitute
And a buck was hard to find.
Mike Condelo lead the band. Was he
Really the Beetle we never knew?
Hub Cap and the wheels were punk rock
In it's very first review.
Was there truly gold in them thar hills
Where Gold Dust Charlie used to go?
Listen close dear children for
The TV would tell us so.
Alas for us all within the
TV's hue and glow.
There is no longer magic
There's no longer the Wallace and Ladmo show.
But for a few of us who knew them well
Our hearts and minds were free
To lavish in and frolic through
The land of fantasy.
On that day that the angels come
I'm sure that I won't lag,
Cause I'm sure that I'll finally get
That wondrous "Ladmo Bag".

Thanks for ALL of the years!
