The Wallace and Ladmo Show, for those who were not fortunate to live in Arizona from 1954 to 1989, was a children's show on KPHO-TV5 in Phoenix. This was no regular kids show however, I get so sad when I see the way Barney, or Bozo, interact with kids. Wallace and Ladmo spoke to us kids with respect, they spoke to us as equals. Wallboy (Bill Thompson) was the serious one, and Ladmo (Ladimir Kwiatkowski) was the one that spoiled us kids. And let us not forget Gerald (Pat McMahon), :), us public school brats from Arizona know what I am talking about! Unfortunately, Ladmo died of cancer in 1994, but we will all remember him with great fondness, especially his rendition of the "Little Drummer Boy". If you would like, I have several newspaper articles written about Ladmo about the time he died. Check out the quiz and surveys that I am currently working on! If anyone has any questions and answers to submit to me, Brent, please feel free to do so.  Also, I am looking to start a page of photographs that anybody may have when they saw Wallace and Ladmo either at KPHO or wherever, I think everyone would love to see them.  If anyone could scan pictures - or allow me to scan, it would be appreciated.  Please email me at brentnebeker@yahoo.com.  Also check out and sign my guestbook about any feelings, memories, or experiences related to the show. At the Boyce Thompson Arboretum near Superior, Arizona (22 miles from Kearny), there is a pistachio tree which has been dedicated to the memory of Ladmo, it was about a year ago.  Click here to see what it looks like as of the end of March, 2000.  I will periodically return to keep up on the progress of this special tree.

The Ladmo Bag

The Ladmo Bag!!!  This was the dream of several generation of kids in Arizona from Yuma to Flagstaff to Phoenix to even Kearny {me -for instance ;)}.  What was it?  It was a bag of goodies, usually sweets and stuff like that, usually coming from the show's sponsors.  Every day there would be a range of winners who would be on the show.  Wallace and Ladmo would interview each one for their name and age.  Also, a lucky audience member would win a Ladmo Bag.  Ladmo would go out into the crowd, and Wallace would call out the correct Row number and the number of seats in from the corner.  What a joy it must have been for the kids the next day when they would go back to school and the rest of the kids would be envious of their good fortune.

This is for all you who wondered what was in the Ladmo Bag

After 25 years of dreaming of getting a Ladmo Bag, I finally won one at the Wallace and Ladmo Stage dedication at the Arizona State Fair in 1994. A dream that came true, my life is now complete. Of course, I have not eaten anything out of the bag. One day when I can afford it, I will put it in a casing to keep forever and to one day show off to my future children and grandchildren.
